SO AFTER 866 votes being cast, this week’s Anthony Conaghan Cars Player of the Week has been named.
Having picked up 197 votes, the winner this week is Yvonne McMonagle for her performance for Glenfin against Termon in the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta Tír Chonaill ladies senior final on Monday.
Second place went to Eoghan Jordan, the St Eunan’s goalkeeper, who helped his side to win the Treanor Cup on Thursday in Drumragh against St Patrician Carrickmacross. He picked up 167 votes.
And after scoring five points from play for Milford against Killybegs in the All-County Football League Division 2 last Friday week, Christopher Barrett was third with 124.
In an excellent personal performance, Yvonne McMonagle was the reason that Glenfin managed to overcome an out-of-sorts Termon in the ladies final of the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta Tír Chonaill in Glenties on Bank Holiday Monday. McMonagle, who will be part of the Donegal side who take on Westmeath in the Lidl NFL Ladies Division 2 on Saturday, scored an incredible 4-3 in Glenfin’s 4-9 to 3-6 win.
