ROMA MCLAUGHLIN HAS been named as the Continental Tyres Women’s National League Young Player of the Year.
The 18-year-old Greencastle woman excelled in the Peamount United midfield this season and McLaughlin was also named on the Team of the Season.
McLaughlin, who moved to Peamount from her native Greencastle United last summer, beat Evelyn Daly of Cork City and Keeva Keenan of Shelbourne for the Young Player of the Year accolade.
McLaughlin was named as the Continental Tyres Women’s National League Player of the Month award for January/February.
Last month, she scored a goal for the Republic of Ireland Ireland in the Uefa Women’s Under 19 Championship Elite Round in a 3-0 win over Azerbaijan.
This afternoon, she was presented with her award at a function in the Marker Hortel in Dublin.
