Simon McGlynn has become the latest player to leave Finn Harps, it has been confirmed.
The Raphoe teenager informed Harps boss Ollie Horgan of his decision to leave the club last night.
It is believed that the youngster had become frustrated by a lack of opportunities in the Harps first team this season.
McGlynn made his Harps debut in the EA Sports Cup win over Cockhill Celtic and also started the subsequent loss to Sligo Rovers in the same competition.
They were his only starts in Harps colours, with five brief substitute appearances in the League. McGlynn was on the first team bench a further 11 times without being utilised.
McGlynn has been at Harps since signing from Letterkenny Rovers as a 17-year-old.
He was top scorer with the Harps Under-19s, netting 14 goals, including 11 in the League.
McGlynn was overage this year for the Under-19 League, while he also made a few appearances for Harps in the Ulster Senior League.
He follows goalkeeper Harry Doherty, who signed for Irish League side Carrick Rangers last week, while Michael Funston and Thomas McMonagle left earlier in the season.
