Three-Rivers Shotokan Karate-Club members returned from the 4th JKS World championships in the Emirates Arena Glasgow at the weekend with a fine tally of medals.
The local group represented JKS Ireland. From start to finish this was an excellent event with such high standard drawing competitors from all over the world but again the representatives from Three Rivers did not let the occasion get to them as they returned with medals to the North West.
They helped JKS Ireland finish 8th overall in the medal table out of 29 countries.
Ryan Doherty and Ciarán Crawford took Silver in the boys team Kumite event, Natasha Doherty and Emma Dolan got bronze in the team kata and with Jamie-lee Simpson joining them in the team Kumite took another Bronze medal home.
Natasha Doherty put on a great display in her individual kumite event and to the cheers of the traveling supporters seen her proudly step onto the podium to be named World Silver medalist.
Next up is a trip to Germany this Weekend to take part in the Banzai Cup.
