THERE WAS CERTAINLY a bumper vote for the Anthony Conaghan Cars Player of the Week.
In all, there were 1,296 votes cast over the last three days and the winner after those votes were totted was Oisin Purdy, who picked up 304 votes.
Purdy (pictured below) was man of the match for St Eunan’s last year in the county Under-16 final against Sean MacCumhaill’s in Convoy.
In the county colours, he had to be patient but made his debut in some style for Donegal in the Ulster Under-17 League on Saturday against Antrim, where he bagged a stunning 3-1 in the first half, with the three goals coming inside 23 minutes. Donegal ended up 8-18 to 3-3 winners and play Monaghan tomorrow in the semi-final of the competition.
JD Boyle from Naomh Conaill and the Donegal minor team had a fine outing last Saturday in the Ulster Minor League against Antrim in Magherafelt and was second with 258 votes.
Third place went to Daire McDaid from Termon, who shot 1-9 in their win over Ardara in the All-County Football League, with 195 votes.
Thanks to everyone who voted and we’ll have another poll on Tuesday.
