SHANE MCGINTY was on the mark last night with a super goal as Ballymena United reached the quarter-finals of the County Antrim Shield.
Ballymena needed a penalty shoot-out, but the Blues prevailed 3-2 on spot kicks.
St Johnston man McGinty’s sweetly-struck effort, with his left foot, gave Ballymena the lead against Crusaders on 12 minutes.
A cracker by David Cushley levelled things up for Crusaders on 32 minutes.
McGinty was replaced at the end of full time and Ballymena went on to win 3-2 on penalties.
Ballymena will be joined in the semi-finals by H&W Welders, Glentoran and Cliftonville.
