Finn Harps made their exit from the EA Sports Cup last night as David Parkhouse’s double fired Derry City into the semi-finals.
Harps dared to dream when Nathan Boyle put them ahead, but Parkhouse forced extra time with an equaliser from close range.
It was Parkhouse who came up with the winner in extra-time as he beat goalkeeper Mark Anthony McGinley, in for a first appearance for Harps, in a race for possession to score.
It was second defeat in four days for Harps at the Brandywell, but this was an improved showing from Friday’s 4-0 League loss.
Harps had Mark Coyle sent off in extra time.
