Ryan McHugh says Kilcar aim to learn lessons from last year’s county final loss to Glenswilly.
In three weeks’ time, Kilcar – who defeated St Michael’s in the first of the 2017 SFC semis last night – will take on Gaoth Dobhair or Naomh Conaill in the final.
“We’re delighted to get back into the final,” McHugh, who was named Man of the Match after scoring 2-2, said.
“That was our goal at the start of the year.
“We will try and learn from last year. We had a very good semi-final, but we didn’t put in a performance in the final.”
Kilcar blew St Michael’s away in the first half and McHugh was central with two superbly worked and executed goals.
McHugh said: “We have great runners all over the team. We have put in great work over the last three, four, five years, on the way we want to play.”
McHugh was presented with his Man of the Match award by the newly-installed Donegal manager Declan Bonner.
