Joe Duffy says Saturday’s fight with James Vick can catapult him towards ranking territory in the UFC’s lightweight division.
Duffy and Vick do battle in a 155lbs contest at UFC217 in Madison Square Garden,
The Burtonport man (16-2) is hoping to climb the ladder having recently penned a new seven-fight deal with the franchise.
“The division has always been stacked,” Duffy said in an interview with SevereMMA.
“Any of the guys could beat each other on a given day. Hopefully a good win would put me up there.”
Duffy defeated Reza Madadi in March in his last fight and said: “I enjoyed this camp so much more. There was more pressure in the last one. This one has gone to plan, training is going well.”
