Former Donegal pro boxer Danny Ryan set a new world record in Letterkenny yesterday.
Ryan set a new indoor rowing record, smashing the previous best when he completed 1,275 metres in four minutes.
Ryan completed the fear at FitHub in Letterkenny.
Earlier this year, Ryan and his son Keane competed at the World Indoor Rowing Championships in Boston.
Ryan made his name in the boxing ring in the 1990s.
He was the Irish senior middleweight champion in 1993 when the Raphoe ABC puncher overcame Moate’s Denis Galvin to win the title.
Ryan turned pro in 1995 and defeated Paul Matthews in Shepton Mallet in his first professional contest.
By the time he hung up the gloves, he was 10-3-2, his last contest a defeat to Jon Penn by TKO in the fourth round at the Ulster Hall in Belfast in November 1998.
Ryan’s exploits yesterday were captured by adventurer Jason Black.
