LETTERKENNY NATIVE DALE Gorman held his nerve from the penalty spot in Stevenage’s League Two opener yesterday.
Gorman’s team had to be content with a point in a 3-3 draw against Newport County having squandered a 3-1 lead.
County scored twice in the final 15 minutes from 3-1 down, with sub Shawn McCoulsky equalising in injury time. The hosts held the advantage when Tom Pett scored, but Frank Nouble levelled.
Gorman’s penalty and a goal from Danny Newton put Stevenage in charge, but Mickey Demetriou gave the Exiles late hope with a 25-yard strike before McCoulsky’s dramatic leveller.
