Seamus Coleman will make his 250th Premier League start for Everton tomorrow – and manager Carlo Ancelotti insists the Killybegs native can play ‘until he’s 40’.
The 31-year-old joined the Merseysiders in January 2009 from Sligo Rovers for an initial fee of £60,000 having come through the ranks at his native St Catherine’s in the Donegal League.
Everton began the Premier League with a fine 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur last Sunday and welcome newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion to Goodison Park tomorrow.
Manager Ancelotti was full of praise for the Republic of Ireland captain this afternoon in his pre-match press conference.
“I can say he will start and so congratulations to him,” said the Italian.”It’s a great achievement. We are honoured to have him as a captain in this team. Seamus can play until he’s 40. He’s still young.”
