IT IS A MOMENT that will surely stay with Finn Harps fans for the duration of what will be a nail-biting final few weeks of the season.
Last night in the 68th minute, Cork City attacker Garry Buckley went to ground under a challenge from Finn Harps defender Josh Mailey. Finn Park was stunned when referee Paul Tuite pointed to the spot and awarded the Leesiders a penalty.
[adrotate group=”50″]Sean Maguire stepped up to place the penalty kick beyond the Harps goalkeeper, Ciaran Gallagher, for what proved the only goal of the game, condemning Harps to their eighth straight defeat.
Manager Ollie Horgan was fuming with the awarding of the penalty at the time – and, as the footage on RTÉ’s highlights programme, Soccer Republic, shows, the Harps boss had every right to feel aggrieved;
