JIM MCGUINNESS ONCE wore the colours of Donegal Phildelphia and now the club have launched a somewhat novel recruitment drive.
Paul McDaid (pictured above) from Letterkenny, assisted off-camera by Ruairí Crawford of Glenswilly, have put together a promotional video of the city, using their inspiration of ‘Gary Gamble Tours’.
It features the famous steps at the Museum of Art scaled by Sylvester Stallone, who played boxer Rocky Balboa in the famed movies.
McGuinness played with St Pat’s Donegal Philidelphia in 1999 and returned in 2012 with the Sam Maguire, having managed Donegal to a second ever All-Ireland title.
Ciaran Porter (St Mary’s Convoy), Rory Connor (Downings), Packie Kennedy (St Eunan’s) and James Cannon (Gaoth Dobhair) currently play at the Pennsylvania-based GAA club, who have other Donegal men like Pat Bourke, Louis Bradley, Cathal McHugh, John Flood and Seamus Sweeney on the board.
