LETTERKENNY’S CIARA GRANT SAYS the Republic of Ireland women’s team expect to qualify for Euro 2017.
The Girls in Green begin theur qualifying campaign on Monday evening when they face Finland at Tallaght Stadium in Dublin (kick-off 7.30pm, live on Setanta Ireland).
22-year-old Grant (pictured above), who plays for UCD Waves, has won 15 Irish caps and will be hoping to get the nod from manager Sue Ronan to face Finland.
“We’re ready to go,” Grant told FAI TV’s Gareth Maher.
“I’m quite excited and there’s a good buzz around camp. It’s good to have the first game at home and everyone is ready for it.
“There is confidence that we have a good draw. The expectation is to qualify and we all believe that we can qualify.”
As well as Finland, Ireland will face Spain, Portugal and Montenegro in their qualifying group.
Grant’s UCD Waves team-mate Dora Gorman will miss Monday’s game through injury.
