THE ULSTER SENIOR LEAGUE squad for next weekend’s FAI Intermediate Inter-provincials has been finalised.
The USL have won the Michael Ward Trophy in each of the last two years.
This year’s tournament will be hosted by the Leinster Senior League and O’Brien has again a strong squad at his disposal.
Despite being down the likes of Ryan Gildea, David Shovlin, Gerry Gill, Jimmy Bradley, Garbhan Friel and Conor Carlin from the side that captured the title last year, former Cockhill boss O’Brien still has bags of experience on the bus.
One of the late additions to the 20-man squad is Jonny Bonner, formerly of Finn Harps and most recently of Wexford Youths, who is set for a return to Letterkenny Rovers.
The USL select drew 2-2 with Derry City in their opening friendly match and last night they lost 4-3 against Dergview with Gerard McLaughlin scoring twice and Malachy McDermott also on target.
