THE ULSTER Senior League begin their 2019 FAI Intermediate Interprovincial Tournament against Connacht tonight.
The game takes place at Westmanstown as Anthony Gorman’s USL begin their charge for the Michael Ward Trophy.
The USL have lost the likes of Conor Tourish, Tony McNamee, Benny McLaughlin and Ronan Doherty from the League’s ranks in the last couple of years.
Gorman, however, is keen for his men to be competitive over the weekend.
“The most important thing is to get a result on the first night,” he said.
“You have to use the squad. We have to be mindful of the fixtures and keep the players fresh.
“You’re looking at the tournament and who you might need for certain games.
“It’s a big ask.”
