Donegal’s sub zero temperatures are scuppering Sunday’s local soccer action.
Already, a number of games have fallen victim to the frosty weather.
The Ulster Senior League game between Derry City Reserves and Finn Harps Reserves has been called off due to a frozen pitch at Greysteel. The USL game between Fanad United and Letterkenny Rovers had been postponed last night, owing to a bereavement in the Fanad club.
The other USL game scheduled for today, between Cockhill and Swilly Rovers, has also been postponed.
In the Donegal League, the Division Two game between Curragh Athletic and Kerrykeel 71 Club is off. Donegal Junior League Secretary says the temperature gauge at the New Camp Complex in Killygordon was reading a cool -5.
Other games off include: Glenea v Cappry, Kildrum v Milford, Kilmacrennan v Lagan, Castlefin v Drumoghill, Convoy v St Catherine’s, Dunkineely v Gweedore Celtic, Copany v Whitestrand, Cranford v Letterbarrow, Eany v Drumkeen, Gweeedore United v Glenree United.
In the Inishowen League, games off include: Cockhill Reserves v Aileach Youths and Clonmany Reserves v Cockhill Youths.
