THE Ulster Senior League has outlined its plans for a resumption of the 2019/20 season – but are dependent on the FAI’s schedule for the underage League of Ireland campaign.
League officials met last night to explore their options.
The USL intent to complete the current season with a provisional fixture schedule draw up and games planned to begin on July 18.
“Our decision was based on the knowledge we have at this present time about the continuation of the League of Ireland underage programme,” a USL statement said.
“However, if the LOI underage does not resume, it is our plans to render the current season of the USL null and void, and begin season 2020-2021 in mid August.
“We are also awaiting the ‘Return to Playing Protocol’ from the FAI, which we are told will be released before the end of this week.”
