THE ULSTER SENIOR SCHOOLS quarter-final between St Eunan’s College, Letterkenny and Loreto Community School, Milford has been rescheduled for next month after being called off this afternoon.
The teams arrived at the Aura Centre to find the council spraying the pitch with pesticide, meaning the game couldn’t be played at the Sallaghraine facility.
With St Eunan’s players having a casual kick-about on the astroturf at the Aura and with the Loreto squad assembled in the car park, confusion reigned.
The teams retreated to the Letterkenny Community Centre, but a pitch inspection by the referee, Marty Quinn, deemed the Pearse Road venue to be unplayable.
Managers Ollie Horgan and Patrick Curley agreed to pencil the fixture in for the first week in January at a Letterkenny venue to be confirmed.
The winners of the game are due to play Patrician High School from Carrickmacross in the semi-finals.
