FORMER ILLIES Golden Gloves boxer Tyrone McCullagh made it two-out-of-two in his professional career with a second round stoppage of Hungarian Bence Sipos at York Hall last night.
McCullagh, who has signed with British promoter Goodwin, wasted little time for the second win of his career, having stopped another Hungarian, Tamas Laska, on his pro debut in July.
McCullagh has trained between Holy Family BC in Belfast and the Inishowen ABC, while he has been working under Buncrana strength and conditioning coach Oisin O’Flaherty.
McCullagh was an Irish champion and a European bronze medalist as an amateur, but the Derry man grew frustrated, culminating when he lost the Irish bantamweight final to Michael Conlan in 2014.
