Tyler Toland played an hour this evening as the Republic of Ireland women’s national team hammered Northern Ireland 4-0 in Tallaght in their last 2019 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Qualification was not on the cards for Colin Bell’s team, but they ended with an excellent derby win.
Leanne Kiernan scored twice for Ireland, including the opener after just three minutes.
Katie McCabe, who also scored twice, doubled the Irish lead and a Toland shot that was palmed by the ‘keeper helped create the third, netted by Kiernan.
Toland was on the end of a horrific challenge from Northern Ireland midfielder Kerry Montgomery early in the game. Montgomery was lucky to escape with only a yellow card.
Amber Barrett came on as a late substitute for the Girls in Green.
