A father and son charged with attacking a Donegal referee are to face trial in February.
Sean Dinnegan Snr, aged 49 and his son Dean, aged 21, are accused of attacking Daniel Sweeney from Dungloe in November last year.
Both men gave addresses at Dalton Park in Mullingar, Westmeath.
The West Donegal man suffered horrific facial injuries and concussion after being set upon during the soccer match.
A 12-year-old child was also attacked during the incident at Horseleap Football Club.
The men have appeared at the district court and will now be formally arraigned at Tullamore Circuit Court on February 25th next.
Both men are charged with various offences.
If they plead guilty at the circuit court, a date will be set for sentencing.
However, if the men plead not guilty then a trial date will be set by the judge.
