TWO DONEGAL PLAYERS have been included in the Nicky Rackard Champions 15 for 2016.
Setanta’s Danny Cullen and Burt’s Padraig Doherty are included in the selection, with the awards to be presented at the Convention Centre in Dublin on the occasion of the GAA GPA All-Stars.
A Player of the Year will also be selected on the evening for each competition.
Cullen returned to action from a cruciate lay-off and was superb for Ardal McDermott’s team again.
Doherty is a native of Carndonagh who plays hurling with Burt and he, too, had a fine campaign with Donegal reaching the semi-finals of the Nicky Rackard Cup, where they lost 1-18 to 2-11 to Mayo in Letterkenny.

“These players and the teams they play for do not always attract the attention or the credit their skills and contribution to hurling deserve and these awards are a tacit recognition of the standards they have set for themselves.
[adrotate group=”81″]“I laud the displays and the efforts of all of those named and hope this acknowledgement will further bolster their desire for future honours.”
