SEAMUS COLEMAN PLAYED his first game for Everton tonight since suffering a leg break on international duty last March.
The Killybegs native performed excellently at Goodison Park in the 2-1 Premier League win over Leicester City, a match in which Theo Walcott scored twice for Everton to seal the three points.
Twitter was full of praise for the Republic of Ireland captain:
Great to see Seamus Coleman back on the pitch tonight for @Everton

Lord it is good to see Seamus Coleman back in Premier League. In an Everton season in which hope has long been dashed, and new arrivals proven to be Fools Gold, Seamus’s return conjures an all too rare emotion: Human Joy

Seamus Coleman got to be my favourite ever Everton player no doubt in my mind now. Gives nothing less than 100%, played 95 minutes on his first game back after a broken leg and could’ve easily been Man of the Match. So so good.

Energy of Seamus Coleman tonight was something else it really was! First proper competitive game back and he was running up and down that wing in injury time like it was the first min! Walcott showed he’s ability also tonight! Onwards and upwards now ? ? COYB ? ?

Seamus Coleman is the epitome of a model pro. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s fitter, faster and stronger by every metric than before his injury. Attitude is incredible and always has been. #EFC

Seamus Coleman epitomises everything an Everton player should be. He gave absolutely everything there. He had nothing left. What a man.

Theo Walcott takes the acclaim for #efc with his goals but the night belonged to Seamus Coleman, superb display and fought to the end. Heartfelt salute to the Gwladys St after the final whistle.

Everton lead and, while he had no part in goal, stadium breaks into rendition of ’60 grand, 60 grand Seamus Coleman’ – somewhere a lone Sligo voice is at pains to point out they made more via clauses

Seamus Coleman after going straight through a 60/40 ball against his favour, gets up and runs the length of the field with the ball in the 92nd minute. In his first game back. He’s just incredible #Everton #EFCvLEI

Seamus Coleman is a spectacular player. In every sense of the word the man is pure class. On and off the pitch he is one of the very best. Never underestimate his importance to this club. Utterly irreplaceable.

Money and business is not everything in life. Bill Kenwright texted Seamus Coleman on his hospital bed with his leg in bits and assured him of a new 5 year deal. That was a brilliant gesture, and that was #EFC to me.

They say every player can be replaced but you can’t replace seamus Coleman and his passion for Everton what a guy
