THE GLENFIN GAA club has paid tribute to much-loved colleague Tony Carlin, who sadly died on Monday.
A deep sense of shock and sadness swept across the area on Monday when news of Tony’s passing filtered through.
Aged just 25, Tony was a player with the Glenfin senior reserves and also looked after some of Glenfin’s underage teams as a manager. For several years, Tony acted as the club’s diligent Public Relations Officer.
“It is with great regret and sadness that our fellow player, member and friend Tony Carlin has passed away,” the club said.
“Clg Gleann Fhinne would like to pass their condolences to the Carlin and McMenamin families and everyone who knew him.
“The clubhouse will be open from 7pm to 9pm tonight for anyone who wants to call in for tea or a chat.
“All further club activities will be cancelled until further notice.
“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.”
Tony’s remains will repose at the family home in Gortness, Cloghan, from 11 o’clock on Wednesday morning. The wake is private for family, neighbours, close friends and members of the Glenfin GAA club.
Requiem Mass at 11am on Thursday in Our Lady of Perpetual Succour Church, Glenfin.
