TORI Pena missed out on qualifying for the pole vault final at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.
The Californian, who competes out of Finn Valley AC, finished tenth in Group A of the qualificatiuon having recorded a best attempt of 4.30 metres.
Pena went out at 4.45 metres.
Pena, who recently retained her Irish senior title and booked a place at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio, cleared heights of 4.15 metres and 4.30 metres, but missed 4.45 metres three times.
Milford’s Brendan Boyce, who competes with Letterkenny AC, will be in action on Saturday morning in the 50k race walk.
Mark English reached the 800m semi-finals, but missed out on a place in the final.
