TORI Peña exited the Olympic Games in Rio this afternoon after failing to clear 4.45 metres in the women’s pole vault.
Peña, competing in qualifying group 2, was competing in her second Olympic Games.
Four years ago, Peña ‘no marked’ in London.
Today, the California-born Finn Valley AC athlete, cleared her first mark of 4.15m at the first attempt.
Peña was looking in good form and, at the second go, passed 4.30m, but bowed out of the competition after knocking the 4.45m height at all three attempts.
To advance, Peña needed either to clear 4.60m or finish inside the top 12 in her group.
