MUCH SOUGHT-AFTER goalkeeper Gareth Wade has moved to a new club in the Ulster Senior League.
Wade has been snapped up by Bonagee United, his capture coming as a major coup for Dry Arch Park manager Peter Moran ahead of the new season, expected to get underway in late August.
Wade joins from Swilly Rovers, where he was instrumental in their Knockalla Caravans Senior Cup wins in 2013 and 2014.
Wade has long been regarded as the top stopper in a League in which he was a winner three times with Kildrum Tigers, in 2004, 2007 and 2008, and was a mainstay of the Tigers’ golden period under Raymond McDaid’s management.
Wade has been courted by a number of Ulster Senior League and Donegal League clubs this summer, but the Creggan man will don the number 1 shirt of Bonagee United and his signing comes as a real statement of intent from Moran.
