LETTERKENNY woman Julianne Herrity has landed the job as the new head coach of the women’s soccer programme at Auburn University at Montgomery.
Herrity spent three years as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II powerhouse Carson-Newman University and now joins the Warhawks.
While serving as an assistant for the Eagles, Herrity handled the daily planning and coordinating of training sessions, recruiting of both domestic and international student-athletes, monitoring of academics in the classroom, scouting of opponents, analysing game film and helping maintain the team budget.
Now, Herrity gets a chance to lead her own programme at Auburn.
“I’d like to first thank Jessie Rosa and the entire search committee for this amazing opportunity,” Herrity said.
“I look forward to beginning this new journey, and to both restoring and continuing the success that AUM women’s soccer has had in the past.
“I’d also like to thank my Carson-Newman family. Special thanks are in order for Matt Pope, Simon Duffy and all my fellow staff members and players I have been fortunate enough to work with over the last few years.”
Herrity holds a U.S. Soccer D Coaching License, as well as a Football Association of Ireland National D License.
Herrity earned her undergraduate degree in Sports and Exercise Science from Ulster University in Belfast in 2013.
She received two masters degrees while at Carson-Newman, earning her Masters of Business Administration in 2016 and her Masters in Education in 2019.
