Ollie Horgan and Finn Harps will be keen to extend Sam Todd’s stay at the club after the big Carndonagh man was the hero of the hour again tonight.
Longford Town 1 Finn Harps 2
Eight days after striking a late winner against Cabinteely in Ballybofey, Todd pounced for a last-gasp winner against Longford tonight.
After home goalkeeper Mick Kelly spilled possession, Todd fired to the net to send the visiting supporters wild.
It might have been a scarcely deserved win for Harps, but they won’t mind after sealing a second successive win in the First Division.
For Todd, it’s a third game in a row to get on the scoresheet as he also netted in the 3-2 loss against UCD a fortnight ago.
Todd is on loan at Harps from Derry City until the end of June, but Harps are sure to look for an extension on that deal.
Mark Coyle, also in a fine vein of form for Harps, fired home the opener on six minutes, but Dylan McGlade levelled for Longford right on half-time.
Longford were well in command in the second half, but Harps held on.
Tristan Noack-Hofmann had a header that went close and Sam Verdon was denied by Harps stopper Ciaran Gallagher.
