2017 got off to a great start for the Three Rivers Shotokan Karate Club Lifford at the 26th North-South Open Championships.
They traveled to the Royal Belfast Academical Institution on Saturday to represent JKS Ireland.
The club didn’t register for the Kata section which should have lowered their chances of getting on the podium.
Howver, the young athletes proved this wrong as they came home with a whopping 10 medals in Kumite with Emma Dolan, Ciarán Crawford and Brodie Hannigan all being crowned North South Open Champions for 2017.
Next up for the club is JKS Ireland training at the weekend and the IKKU open at the end of the month both events taking place in Dublin.
