Members of Three-Rivers Shotokan Karate Club after a very successful first trip to England to compete at the 20th Central England Karate Championships held in Worcester at the weekend.
The members were representing JKS Ireland along with neighbouring club Strabane Shotokan and this proved a great trial run for the JKS World Championships coming up in Glasgow in September. Natasha Doherty won Gold in her Kumite section along with Silver for herself, Emma Dolan and Jamie-Lee Simpson in the girls team Kumite.
Ciarán Crawford won gold in the boys team kumite and Ryan Doherty Bronze in the mixed team Kumite section. Next up is the Rene Smaal Summer Camp and International Kumite and Kata Cup in Kildare later this month.
