Termon launched their bid to win the U18 CYC Tournament Cup at Greater Chester Park, Philadelphia on Wednesday.
The temperature dial was over 32 degrees and the extreme temperatures proved a difficult challenge for the exiles.
The match started at a frenetic pace with US GAA Team on top gaining a four point lead with 20 minutes gone.
The US GAA Team were an amalgamation of several states and their short time training together belied their excellent performance.
Termon, after struggling early on, began to get a grip of the game with some fine long kick passing resulted in a great goal from Luke McGarvey .
Final score Termon 5.11 US GAA 2 6.
Termon recorded their second win in the Philadelphia-based CYC competition again on Thursday.
An enthralling game where the players went toe to toe with the winner in doubt right up to the final whistle.
Termon started extremely slowly and were five points in arrears after 10 minutes.
A fine goal from Jamie Grant where he finished smartly after a long run settled the Termon team.
From this point on the match was even with both teams showing tremendous skills with some delightful long range points from play.
Termon scored a third goal at the beginning of the half and opened up a six point lead.
Back came New York who began a brilliant come back with three points from play and two from frees to leave the minimum between the teams.
In the end Termon held out for the victory.
Termon were defeated by the last kick if the game in Philadelphia on Sunday last. This game had everything that the fans wanted, high fielding, tough tackling and tremendous long range scores from both teams.
The match was stopped for a few minutes as a result of an injury to Aaron Reid. New York scored the first point of the game following a great run and finish.
Jack Alcorn equalised from 25 meters out on the left .
Termon’s goalkeeper Emmett Maguire was forced to make a brilliant save from New York’s full forward who was a real handful for the Termon defence due to his high fielding and physical presence.
With the high temperatures and rolling substitutes allowed Termon began to use the bench to great effect.
A great run from Patrick McDaid and link up play with Mark Gallagher resulted in a goal .
The New York goalkeeper made a fine save following great set up play by Bryan McGettigan, Manus OConnell and Luke McGarvey resulted in Aaron Reid firing over for a point.
The second half began with points from Jack Alcorn from play and Emmett Maguire from a free.
New York replied with an excellent point from out on the left.
Mark Gallagher fed Aaron Reid for a smartly taken score to open up a slender lead.
New York then began to get on top and some brilliant defending from. Mark Toye, Michael Trearty, and Conor Cassidy held them at bay.
The match was drawn entering injury time and Termon were awarded a free from distance following a surging run by Conor Black which would have given Termon the lead.
New York got a turnover and worked up the pitch and scored the winner with the last kick of the game.
Final score New York 1 -13 Termon 2-9.
All the Termon panel and management team led by Trevor Alcorn gave 100 per cent and can be proud of their performances over the course of the tournament.
