Swilly Rovers Under-14 women’s team beat Sea Rovers 2-1 after extra time in the first round of the Under-14 Ulster FA Women’s Cup. The Swilly goals were scored by Chloe Moore and Kellyann Buchanan. They now play Greencastle in the semi-final.
Swilly Rovers continued preseason with two friendlies this past week, losing to Lagan Harps 3-1 with the goal coming from Michael McHugh and also losing narrowly to Drumoghill 3-2 with goals coming from Michael Doherty and Marty McDaid.
Swilly Rovers would like to extend congratulations to all of its players who competed in the Macron Galway Cup in the week past for various teams.
The club held its annual underage registration night in the community centre, Ramelton on Tuesday night.
Anyone who still needs to sign is asked to contact any Swilly committee member urgently as registrations are due for the upcoming season.
There was no jackpot winner in the weekly Swilly Rovers lotto. Numbers drawn were 13, 20, 22, 24. Steve Dunworth, Ramelton matched three numbers. Next week’s jackpot is €1,375 and the next draw is in O’Shaughnessy’s Bar on Sunday evening, August 16th.
