The Cloughaneely rowing club, Cumann Ràmhaíochta Chloich Cheann Fhaola CCF, had a fantastic weekend in Wexford at the All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships.
The Cloughaneely club received an award from the ICRF for the Sporting Club of the Champhionship.
The club’s teams placed as follows: 1st Place in Open Classic Men; 1st Place in Open Classic Ladies; 1st Place in Senior Men Curraghs; 1st Place in Mixed Curraghs; 1st Place in Novice Ladies; 3rd Place in Novice Men; and 3rd Place in Pre-Veteran.
That meant a total of 31 medals for the club, including 21 gold and 10 bronze.
Cloughaneely rowers were placed in seven out of nine race entries and had only ten rowers in the club: Dinny McCullagh, Edward Coyle, Bernard Doohan, Peadar O’Donnell, Denise McFadden, Nicola Boyle, Noeleen Doogan, Seonaid O’Donnell, Philomena O’Donnell and Janet O’Donnell.
