The younger members of Three Rivers Shotokan club took the massive step into the world of competition at the weekend as they attended the Future Champions Cup held in the Melvin Hall Sports Complex Strabane.
For many Karate practitioners this step can be a very daunting one something the coaches of Strabane Shotokan identified and decided to run this excellent beginners event to help ease the transition from training at their respective Dojos to stepping onto the Tatamai for the first time.
After months of hard training the young members under the control of their coaches Natasha, Emma and Jamie-Lee returned to Lifford feeling on top of the world with their bounty of medals which consisted of 11 Gold, 6 Silver and 12 Bronze and more importantly their new found confidence and hunger to compete to the delight of their Parents and Head Coach Martin McNamee.
Three Rivers Shotokan train every Monday and Wednesday night in the Resource Centre Lifford from 6.30 – 7.30 new members always welcome.
