LETTERKENNY AC athletes enjoyed a great day at the Ulster Championships, with some topĀ results and many PBs.
The day started well with Ronan Kelly and Ryan Canning in the Under-14 75m hurdles with Ryan taking bronze.
This was the boys’ first time to compete in hurdles and they showed great promise.
In the long jump LAC had Sinead McGettigan Under15, Stephanie Okoh Under-14 and Lee Walsh all of whom performed well.
[adrotate group=”49″]Joseph Aidoo (pictured above) with an impressive jump andĀ PB of 4.43m won gold to become the U14 Ulster Champion.
Ronan Kelly and David Smith took on the high jump, both competing for the first time in this event. Ronan unfortunately sustained a minor injury compromising his jumps but David went on to win bronze in U15s with a jump of 1m 55cm.
Edward Grant performed to his usual high standard retaining his Ulster Championship title with a throw of 11m 24.
Stephanie Okoh and Joseph Aidoo reached the U14 80 m final with Joseph taking home a bronze medal in a time of 11.51 secs.
Mollie Page ran well in the 800m despite an ankle injury and Gemma McFadden came 5th overall with a PB of 2.26.
Ryan Canning in U14 800m ran a strong race with a PB of 2.22, a great time for Ryan who is having a great first season at track competition.
The final race of the day for LAC was the U15 boys 800m with David Smith asnd Oisin Farren. Oisin ran a strong race achieving Ā a qualifying position of 4th place. David Smith once again did himself and the club proud winning gold with a PB of 2.08. Well done David and well done to all our athletes.
