Sarah Patterson and Leanne Patterson netted the two goals in another impressive win.
Raphoe’s first half definitely wasn’t to their usual standard, as they were missing two key players Kimberly Porter and Sabrina Barrnet from their forward line.
Although Raphoe weren’t playing to their best ability, given that they hadn’t had a game for three weeks, they held strong together defending three short corners and keeper Denise McElhinney didn’t have much work to do to save shots.
One of Knocks corners succeeded in the 32nd minute in the first half.
An opportunity arose for Raphoe after they went behind. They went full attack after the push back and broke into the D with Leanne Patterson taking a back stick shot but that was saved by Knock’s goalkeeper.
Raphoe went out on the second half more like their normal performances.
They took on coach Tinney’s advise and begun to work like the team they are known for.
Raphoe broke from Knock’s grasp helping Lyndsey Tinney find Leanne Patterson just inside the 25.
She picked out Sarah Patterson at the back post and she made no mistake.
Raphoe continued their better play, resulting in short corners, where Leanne Patterson scored from to left side of the D.
Although Knock did not back off, they came close to a few goals but were either saved by McElhinney or her defenders Lyndsey Tinney, Victoria Wray, Louise Moran, Arlyne Kilpatrick and Sarah Boal.
Raphoe are away next week to Larne.
Player of the match was Shannon Porter for her dogged determination and fight the whole way through the game.
