THE ALLIANZ Football League takes a break this weekend and club action in Donegal rolls into action – but how are things shaping up ahead of the brief hiatus?
Donegal started in flying form with wins over Down, Cork and Mayo giving Rory Gallagher’s team maximum rewards from the opening three games.
However, a 1-13 to 1-8 loss in Kerry last weekend was followed by Sunday’s 1-19 to 0-17 defeat by Roscommon in Letterkenny.

Dublin have assured themselves of a semi-final spot, while Roscommon are all-but guaranteed a place in the knockout phase at Croke Park.
What, though, of Donegal?
Things are in the balance now as they head into a pair of tough away games, against Dublin and Monaghan.
Since the restructure of the Leagues in 2006, no team has been relegated on six points and Gallagher has been at pains to point out that his team needed seven points to be sure of safety.
Where two teams are level on points, the head-to-head between them is used as the separator but where there are three or more teams locked, the placings are determined by using their points difference.
