ST NAUL’S booked a spot in the semi-finals of the Ulster Intermediate Championship.
St Naul’s 2-10 St James, Aldergrove 1-10
Peadar Mogan hit 1-3 for St Naul’s and Daniel Brennan netted the other goal as the Donegal IFC champions advanced.
It was Aldergrove who drew first blood when Seamus McGarry’s effort deflected past Gavin Mulreaney.
St Naul’s, though, led 1-7 to 1-3 at half-time, spurred by Mogan’s cracking finish for the opening St Naul’s goal.
Kian Jones was sent off and Aldergrove were in trouble.
Early in the second half, Brennan – who had starred in the Donegal final for the Mountcharles men – grabbed the second St Naul’s goal.
Brennan and Ian Campbell were black carded, but St Naul’s never seemed in doubt.
Aldergrove staged a fightback, but St Naul’s had done enough.
