St Michael’s got over their championship defeat by Kilcar last week to record a good victory over Bundoran in gale force winds at the Bridge today,
St. Michael’s 0-7
Bundoran 0-6
Bundoran were playing with the wind in the first half but they were unable to gauge the windy conditions and were wasteful with a lot of wides which they were made to regret in the second.
They scored five points from Jamie Brennan with three and Thomas Houston and Ciaran McGaughey. Daniel McColgan got the sole point for a much changed home side who also lost Liam Paul Ferry to injury at the end of the first half. The Half Time score was St. Michael’s 0-1 Bundoran 0-5.
St. Michaels coped better playing with the wind in the second half and points from Daniel McLaughlin (3) and Andrew Kelly, Mark Anthony McGinley and Lee McColgan left the score at six points each with five minutes left. Ciaran McGaughey got the sole Bundoran point in the second half and a last minute free from Lee McColgan sealed the win for St. Michael’s and meant that Bundoran are still looking for the two points that would ensure their top flight survival.
