EDDIE HARKIN WILL once again manage the St Michael’s senior team in 2016 after his appointment was ratified by the club tonight.
Harkin is in his second stint at the helm at The Bridge.
Previously, he guided the club to their first-ever Donegal SFC final in 2011, a game they lost to Glenswilly.
Harkin stepped down after the 2012 campaign, but was reinstated last year, following a two-year break.
St Michael’s have been knocking on the door over the last decade, but haven’t managed to get across the line, missing out to St Eunan’s in each of the last two semi-finals.
The Creeslough-Dunfanaghy side recruited the expertise of Declan Bonner for the knockout stage of the 2015 Championship, but were beaten by ten points by Eunan’s in the semi-final.
They did go on to win the All-County Football League Division 1 title for the first time in the club’s history.
Harkin’s appointment was rubber-stamped by the club executive at a meeting tonight.
