ST MARY’S, Convoy will be under new management in 2017, the club has been confirmed.
At its annual general meeting on Thursday night, St Mary’s appointed Laurence McMullan as the new senior team manager.
McMullan, a senior player at the club, takes over from Hugh Harkin, after a year at the helm.
Harkin picked up the baton after Oliver Prunty stepped down following the 2015 season.
The Convoy men beat Na Rossa in their Championship group, but lost out against Urris and Letterkenny Gaels before being beaten by the Gaels again in the quarter-final phase of the JFC.
They finished seventh in Division 4 of the All-County League.
McMullan takes the reigns now for 2017. A popular figure in local GAA circles, McMullan served on Jim McGuinness’s backroom team with the county under-21s and has coached at underage level.
