ST JOHNSTON Under-11s were celebrating last night after they captured the North-West Cricket Union’s Under-11 Cup.
The Donegal side (pictured above celebrating their triumph) romped to an impressive win over Strabane at the Railway Road.
Six days after the club’s women were celebrating Cup success, it was the turn of the Mini Saints – under the watch of David Macbeth, Manav Bhavsar and Stewart Lapsley – this week.
St Johnston captain Scott Macbeth led the way for his team with a stunning performance.
MacBeth hit an unbeaten 69 to set the tone for the win.
Luke Magee added 16 and Khyat Bhavsar helped himself to 15 as St Johnston reached 130 for the loss of only three wickets in their 15 overs, an impressive return.
Strabane manfully tried to respond, but when time was called Roulston’s 25 and McGettigan’s 10 were the heights of their scoring as they scored 55-2 in their 15 overs.
The St Johnston team was: Scott Macbeth, Khyat Bhavsar, Luke Magee, Sam Macbeth, Harry Pearson, Sam McKnight, Tory Pearson, Emma Macbeth, Pratam Goud, Ronan Lapsley, Jake McKnight.
