ST JOHNSTON were beaten by North Premiership leaders Coleraine by six wickets at Sandel Lodge this afternoon.
On a day when the other relegation battlers, Strabane and Bready, recorded wins, Ian Macbeth’s St Johnston fell to the basement of the standings.
Strabane defeated Donemana with Bready overcoming Ardmore, meaning St Johnston are now in a real battle for survival.
The Donegal side went into bat first, but were all out for 81 runs in 34.4 overs.
Rammohan Goud and Jassi Wallia each hit 11 while Kevin Martin top scored for the Saints with 13 and Ryan Macbeth managed to score 10.
Scott Campbell did the bulk of the damage claiming the wickets of Goud, Martin, Ethan Lapsley, Michael Ranking and the captain Macbeth (pictured above).
Campbell was Coleraine’s top man with the bat, registering 28 not out while Graeme McCarter notched an unbeaten 11 and South African Kyllin Vardhan made 10 runs before being caught by Ryan Macbeth off Kushpal Singh’s bowl.
St Johnston have a huge game next Saturday when they host Strabane.
