The gauntlet was down for St Johnston, but the Donegal side were undeterred and they were a whisker away from a surprise win,
Jack Macbeth was on song with his 97 including ten fours and four sixes.
His brother Scott Macbeth was run out on 16 and their father Ian Macbeth made 15 before being bowled LBW by Barr.
Andy Britton claimed four wickets for Brigade and St Johnston were 29 shy when all-out on 164 runs.
