ST EUNAN’S PULLED away from Aodh Ruadh in yesterday’s delayed Donegal Minor Championship semi-final in Convoy.
St Eunan’s 1-15 Aodh Ruadh 1-8
There was a delay of around an hour to the game due to the absence of a referee, but the game got underway in the charge of replacement official Enda McFeely.
A flurry of scores late in the first half gave St Eunan’s a foothold.
[adrotate group=”56″]An early Shane McGrath goal had given Aodh Ruadh a slender lead, but Evan McCroary’s goal, five minutes before the break, was a massive score and, with Niall O’Donnell and Oisin O’Boyle on target, St Eunan’s were 1-9 to 1-6 ahead at half-time.
Aodh Ruadh scored early and late in the second half, but failed to trouble the scoreboard operators in between times and St Eunan’s asserted their dominance on things.
They were led by O’Donnell, who ended up five points, while they also missed a series of goal chances in the second half.
Scorers – St Eunan’s: Niall O’Donnell 0-5, Evan McCroary 1-0, Oisin Purdy, Niall Hannigan, Oisin O’Boyle 0-2 each, Oisin Toal, Michael McGroary, Eoin McGeehan, Aaron Deeney 0-1 each
