St Eunan’s  advanced to the semi final of the Junior B Championship with a nine-point victory over St. Mary’s, Convoy on Saturday evening.

Only one point separated the sides at half time as Eunan’s led 0-9 to 0-8 but the Letterkenny men found extra gears in the second half to pull away after being pegged back just before half time.
Eunan’s opened the scoring in the first minute through the impressive Garbhan Grant who shot four fine points from play over the hour.  They led by 0-9 to 0-4 on 25 minutes, the pick of the bunch a long range effort from Michael Coleman but Convoy finished the first half very strongly thanks mainly to three quickfire points from the excellent Jack Blake who recorded a personal tally of 1-4.
Eunan’s were stung into action from the restart and Paul Crossan set the ball rolling with a point in the first minute of the second half.  They reeled off a goal and five points unanswered in the third quarter, the goal coming in the 43rd minute from Matthew McColgan who rifled home after a perfect pass from Grant.
Convoy replied with a well taken goal from Blake on 48 minutes but five further points from Eunan’s in the final ten minutes including efforts Oisin Clarke, Oran Davis and Jake Whelan saw the Letterkenny side win out on a final score of 1-19 to 1-10.
