THEIR normal activities may well have ceased for a couple of weeks at least, but sports clubs across Donegal have remained at the very heartbeats of their respective communities.
Action in most sports has come to a standstill until at least March 29.
However, clubs in all corners of Donegal are rallying around to assist the elderly, needy and the vulnerable in their communities.
Many club members are undertaking to collect items such as groceries or prescriptions for people within their areas – club members or not.
Due to the escalation of the spread of Covid-19 in recent days, which has forced the shutdown of schools, public buildings and, since last night, the pubs, the country is experiencing strange and worrying times.
Yet, it is in times like this where the strength of the spirit of our clubs and communities can really come to the fore; times when it really matters.
We have drawn up a list of clubs who have posted such announcements.
If you would like your club or society to be listed, please get in touch with us at info@donegaldaily.com or donegalsporthub@gmail.com
